I’ve spent the last few days creating content with chatGPT. Some of it is painfully awful. Some of it is very mundane. Occasionally I’ve created something that sparks interest. 

I’ve spent the last few days creating content with chatGPT. Some of it is painfully awful. Some of it is very mundane. Occasionally I’ve created something that sparks interest. 


The idea that AI can help us as small business owners in our marketing is HUGE. We spend so much time and energy on creating content and it’s exhausting, even if you enjoy it! If you have poor writing skills, or that creative bone in your body is a tiny jellied piece of nothing, then it’s a hard slog to get content down on a page, in a social media post, or an email.


The sheer time it takes to create content is a big investment. So it’s so easy to see why using a tool that is (presently) free, that can create content is seconds can be super tempting.


There are huge benefits to using AI for content creation. The time factor. The ability for something other than you to come up with ideas. The chance to tap into a machine that is learning with each new addition and piece of feedback.


I’ve found some ways to really embrace using AI in our business, and I’m sharing those more and more with my clients.


But there are things to worry about too. Google has said it can tell if the content is AI. I think I can often too. It’s not (yet) able to replace the power of our our minds to tell a story in a way that only we can. it’s limited in the ability to create powerful and personal metaphors or create your own style.


And there’s a concern that this already very very busy internet of words and noise will just become awash with more generic rubbish.


Of course, the best way to shine is to be not rubbish.
